Egor Gerasimov vs David Goffin Prediction & Betting Tips - Open Sud de France

David Goffin is seeded second for this tournament. He began this year reaching the semi-finals of a tournament held in Antalya, Turkey but didn’t beat anyone ranked higher than 75th in the world. He lost to Alex de Minaur in that tournament and then had a disastrous time in Australia. He didn’t win a match in two events, including losing to unseeded Alexei Popyrin (going well in the Singapore Open this week) in the first round of the Australian Open. This week has gone a lot better for him though. He had a tough first match though having to come from a set down to beat Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi. Better form was shown in the last eight as he beat seventh seeded Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets. He'll be out for revenge on Gerasimov having lost to him in Marseille last year.

Facing Goffin is the unseeded Egor Gerasimov who is ranked 83rd in the world. The Bulgarian made a shaky start to 2021 when losing to Tristan Lamasine in the Antalya tournament in Turkey. His opponent is ranked 271st at present. Better form came when Gerasimpov travelled to Australia with a last sixteen appearance in Melbourne, losing in three sets to top 20 player Felix Auger-Alliassime. He knocked out world number 29 Benoit Paire in the first round of the Australian Open before having a nightmare match against eventual semi-finalist Aslan Karatsov. Gerasimov only won one game in that match. He's returned to form in this event. The first round saw him defeat Sir Andy Murray in straight sets. His toughest match so far has been his quarter final win over Alejandro Davidovich- Fokkina. He had to come from a set down to win that match. This looks a much tougher task and Goffin can get the win to reach the final.
