A huge clash in the NHL on Monday evening sees the Boston Bruins heading to Rogers Place to take on the Edmonton Oilers. The Bruins lead the NHL with a league-best record of 45 wins, eight losses and five overtime defeats for a points total of 95. This gives Boston a dominant 12 point lead over second-place Toronto in the Atlantic division. The Bruins are coming off a 3-1 away victory over Vancouver in their last outing and will now look to make it seven straight wins as they play the third game of a four game road trip. Boston has been the clear cream of the crop in the 2022/23 NHL season and it is unsurprising to see them as the current oddsmakers favorites to win the 2023 Stanley Cup. The Bruins hold an away record of 21 wins, 6 losses and two overtime defeats and have ripped off an impressive five straight wins as the visiting team.
Looking to put an end to the Bruins lengthy winning streak are the Edmonton Oilers who come into this matchup sitting third in the Pacific division. The Oilers are battling for playoff positioning as their record of 32 wins, 20 defeats and eight overtime losses means they sit on 72 points and trailing the top spot Golden Knights by four points. Edmonton also hold a slim two point lead over the fourth-place Kraken, who they look set to duke it out with for the third and final playoff spot in the division. Edmonton’s last game finished in a 6-5 away loss to Columbus, a result which snapped a two game winning streak for the Oil. The Oilers have been having something of a strange season as they have performed much better as the visiting team this season.
