Cori Gauff has started her Olympic debut in devastating form and is a big favourite to win here. The American has lost just five games across her two matches in Paris. Gauff defeated Ajla Tomljanovic by the loss of five games in the first round.

Donna Vekic has equalled her best-ever record at the Olympics by making it to the third round in Paris. Representing her native Croatia, Vekic debuted at the Summer Games in the last edition in Tokyo.

To make it to the third round again, the 28-year-old had to see off Lucia Bronzetti and Bianca Andreescu. She defeated both opponents in straight sets, with Andreescu falling by the loss of seven games in the second round. Vekic has been in strong form in recent weeks and has managed eight wins in her last 10 matches. This run has seen her hold on to 21st place in the WTA world rankings.
