Diego Sebastián Schwartzman vs Yibing Wu Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Barcelona

Diego Schwartzman and  Yibing Wu (both unseeded) will on Tuesday meet in the first round of the Barcelona Open on an outdoor clay court. This is their second meeting of the year, the other being at the Miami Open (outdoor hard court) with the Argentinian winning in straight sets. If he wins again here he will set up a second-round showdown with fourth seed Jannik Sinner. Schwartzman is having a turbulent campaign so far and has lost 11 of the 15 matches he has played. His win over Yibing was therefore a shock as the world number 55 has been outstanding so far. The Argentine was unable to build on that win and has gone on to lose three of his four matches since. His last loss saw him retire in the second set of his second-round tie with Jannik Sinner in Monte-Carlo. We will have to wait and see if that will affect him here again. Schwartzman has dropped to 48th in the live ranking and will seek to at least equal his semifinal finish here last season to try and avoid dropping out of the top 50.

Wu  has not played since that loss to Schwartzman in Miami and could be a little rusty as he is also making his debut on clay this season. He is currently 56th in the live rankings  The Chinese number one is having a superb season by his standards and won his first ATP tour title when winning the Dallas Open. This allowed him to break his career-high record and move into the top 60 for the first time. He has won 12 of the 17 matches that he has played and will hope to pick up where he left off and go on another title run. He is making his debut in Barcelona.
