Diego Sebastián Schwartzman vs Dominic Thiem Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Dominic Thiem has reached the final of this tournament for the past two years. He comes into this event fresh from his triumph at the US Open, his first Grand Slam title. For the past four years, Thiem has made at least the semi-finals of this event for the past four years but a third straight final might be a challenge as he is likely to face Rafael Nadal in the last four. He began this tournament with three straight sets wins before dropping a set in the fourth round to qualifer Hugo Gaston. It's been a great year for Thiem with not just the US Open title but losing in the final of the Australian Open. 

This isn't the easiest of quarter finals though as he facs Diego Schwartzman, who is seeded 12th for this tournament. He has reached the last eight without dropping a set but hasn't met any seeded opponents. This is his fourth Grand Slam quarter final but he lost the other three. One of those was in Paris two years ago, when losing to Rafael Nadal. This year has seen Schwartzman reach the fourth round in the Australian Open but he failed to get past the first round of the US Open. Form improved though back on clay as he reached the final of the Rome Masters, beating Nadal on the way and then losing to Novak Djokovic in the final. He has lost six of his previous eight matches against Dominic Thiem with a record on clay of three losses in four matches. Another defeat looks likely here, we go for Thiem to get the win and possibly set up a semi-final with Nadal.
