Sixth seed Diana Shnaider begins her Cathay Pacific Open campaign with a second round match against Viktoriya Tomova. The winner goes into the quarter-finals of this outdoor hard court tournament. Here's our match prediction. 

Shnaider is the world number 16 and received a bye into the second round of this tournament in Tokyo. The 20-year-old has won three titles this year with one of them being on this surface. Recent form has been a struggle though with her last three matches all being lost.

All three of those matches have seen the 20-year-old lose in three sets to players ranked in the top 35. Her last deep run was in last month's Korea Open when reaching the semi-finals. Another good run is possible here with no seeds between her and the last four.

Viktoriya Tomova is at 49th in the latest rankings and a place higher in the live list. The Bulgarian beat the defending champion Veronika Kudermetova in straight sets in her opening match in this tournament. Her one match against Shnaider was played two years ago and Tomova only won one game. That was played on clay though.

Three of her last four matches have ended in defeat but better form was shown in round one.  We go for over 19.5 games to be played in this match.
