Top seed Diana Shnaider will play unseeded Suzan Lamens in the quarter-finals in Hong Kong. This will be their first-ever match. The winner will play Bernarda Pera, Kimberly Birrell or Leylah Fernandez in the semis. Read on for our prediction.

Shnaider has made it to her 10th quarter-final of the year and eighth at tour level. She has only once failed to win in this round and will hope to keep this streak going.

The WTA number 14, who is yet to lose a set this week, defeated Priscilla Hon in the last round. Shnaider has won over 50 matches this year and claimed three tour titles but in recent weeks her form has dipped.

Suzan Lamens is having the best-ever stretch of her career. The Dutchwoman has reached the quarter-finals for the second time in her last three tour events.

Before this stretch, she had only once in her career made it amongst the last eight at a tour tournament. This stretch of nine wins in her last 10 fixtures, began in Osaka where she fought against the odds to be crowned champion.

Currently placed 84th in the live ranking, which is a new career high, Lamens will be confident of another title charge. The 25-year-old defeated eighth seed Cristina Bucsa in the last round in three sets.
