Western Province vs Cheetahs Prediction & Betting Tips - Currie Cup

Saturday’s Currie Cup action will draw to a close at the Cape Town Stadium, where Western Province will be taking on the Free State Cheetahs. The hosts are currently in fifth place in the table standings, while the visitors are second. Check out our match prediction below.

After missing out on qualifying for the knockout stage by a single point last season, Western Province have struggled to get going again this term and are again just outside the top four places. 

Province have managed two wins and taken three losses in their five games so far, though they are on 13 points, having earned a bonus point in all five matches so far, four for tries scored and one for losing by fewer than seven points. 

Last week, the Capetonians entertained the Griffons and claimed a commanding 39-17 victory but the side from Welkom is the only team Province have beaten this season following a 64-15 victory back in week three.

Meanwhile, the Free State Cheetahs head to the West Coast off the back of a thrilling 34-34 draw against the Blue Bulls last week. That result took them to 18 points, three behind the current league leaders. 

The Cheetahs have also notched up four bonus points to date, all by way of tries scored, while they failed to earn a losing bonus point in their only defeat of the season so far against the Bulls which ended 25-13.

When these sides met in the Free State back in week two, the Cheetahs were not for the catching as they surged to a 37-17 victory, giving them the psychological edge heading into this one.
