Detroit Red Wings vs Philadelphia Flyers Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

The 24-18-5 Detroit Red Wings host the 25-17-6 Philadelphia Flyers in an Eastern Conference matchup on Friday morning. The Red Wings had an awful second period in their 4-5 loss to the Dallas Stars when last playing. They lost that period 4-0 and with it, the game slipped out of their reach for all that they won the final frame 2-0 to almost claw their way back into the game. That was only the second time that they have tasted defeat within the 60 minutes of regulation in their last 10 games, playing well of late and getting into a playoff spot as things stand as a result. This is the third game of six in a row at home for the Wings, 1-1 in their first pair, beating the Tampa Bay Lightning in the open game of the home stand. There were only three goals combined in that game which is unusual for the Wings. There are plenty of players who have picked up the goals for them this season, David Perron the 8th to notch his 10th of the season in the Stars game.
Second place in the Metropolitan division still belongs to the Flyers even though they have lost three games on the bounce. Those have all been at home and given Philadelphia fans, they might not mind being on the road here. They conceded 18 goals in those three which has to be a worry given the scoring record that the Red Wings have got this season. Yegor Zamula got three points in their recent defeat to the Ottawa Senators, taking the young D-man to 15 this season. He didn't get a point in his first 16 games in the NHL but has 19 in his 48 since. Add to that a +10 this season and Flyers fans have reason to hope that the 23-year-old can turn into a potential star in the league.
