Detroit Red Wings vs Nashville Predators Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

The 19-16-0 Nashville Predators are on the road in the early hours of Saturday morning to take on the 16-15-4 Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings have been on a terrible run of late, winning twice in their last 11 games. They collapsed in the third period of their only game since Christmas, tied 2-2 early in the third period in Minnesota, the Wild dominated the final frame to win that game 6-3. In their final game before Christmas, the Red Wings twice took the lead in New Jersey before losing to the Devils 3-2 while they had a wild 7-6 win over the Philadelphia Flyers the day before that, despite coughing up a 5-1 lead. They continue to score goals at a smart rate but their lack of any defensive prowess is starting to cost them dear. On a positive note, Patrick Kane now appears to have settled in and has notched six goals in his 11 games for the Red Wings but without shoring things up at the other end, they have been meaningless tallies in the main.
Nashville started 2-6 on the road this season but Andrew Brunette has really turned his squad into a great road team, winning six of their last seven games away from Bridgestone Arena. It's his first season behind the bench in the Music City after a single campaign in charge of the Florida Panthers two seasons back. He guided that team to the President's Trophy as the top regular season team but it was not enough to hang onto his job after losing in the second round of the playoffs. Filip Forsberg leads the team in both goals and assists, moving his career points total to within one of 450. He has had a lot of trouble staying healthy in recent seasons, but this year he has managed so far to play every game, which has played a big part in his team being right in the mix for the playoffs.
