Tampa Bay are second in the NFC South but are out of contention for a wild card place. So are their opponents this weekend with Detroit Lions rock bottom of the NFC North with only three wins in 13 matches. Tampa are 6-7 for the season but at least that's one more win than in 2018. Even so, it's now 12 seasons without a post season play-off place, so back to the drawing board for next season. The Buccaneers are in good form though with three straight wins, last weekend seeing them get a narrow 38-35 win over Indianapolis Colts.
Detroit Lions are 3-9-1 for the season and have at least four wins less than any of the other three sides in the NFC North. Only two of their ten games against other sides in the NFC have been won this season. They didn't lose any of their first three games and then slipped to 3-3-1 for the season but it's all gone wrong recently with six straight defeats. Only one of those losses has O been by a double-figure margin. They have only won two home games this season and another defeat looms this weekend.
