The Denver Nuggets look to extend their winning streak to three games when they host a Utah Jazz team that has been struggling as of late in this classic Western Conference NBA matchup. This game will be the Nuggets third of a six game home stand and they’ve impressed in the first two, recording consecutive blowout wins. Denver beat Portland 140-108 before handling the LA Lakers 133-96 on Saturday night. They’ll now be set to play their third game in four days and will hope fatigue won’t be an issue as they will be up against a well rested Utah Jazz team. The Nuggets currently sit sixth in the West with a 22-19 record and have built themselves a two game lead over the seventh place Lakers thanks to their win in the previous game. The Jazz have wobbled a bit in the last week and have now lost four straight. The losing streak has seen the visitors drop to fourth in the West with a 28-14 record. Utah’s last game was a disappointing 20 point home loss to the Cavs. 

Utah has the rest advantage here, with three full days of rest compared to Denver who will be playing a back-to-back and three games in four days. Denver, who usually boast of the NBA’s more notable home court advantages, haven’t had the kind of season they would have been expecting so far. There are signs things are starting to turn around for them though, with their recent two game winning streak putting their home record at 11-7 and they have averaged a scorching 131.3 points per game over their last three home games. They will need to be at their best to keep the momentum going against a Jazz team that is 14-6 on the road. These two teams squared off recently, with the Jazz winning that game 115-109 in the beginning of January. Denver will be looking to exact some revenge over their opponents and chip away at the gap between the two teams in the standings.
