Portland Trail Blazers beat the New York Knicks in their last match but still remain bottom of the Northwest Division of the NBA's Western Conference. The 115-87 win took their season record to 10-15 but they will do well to make it 11-15 as they travel to the Denver Nuggets who lead the Northwest Division. Portland still have a chance of making postseason and are 11th overall in this conference, a win behind the Phoenix Suns. The win over the Knicks ended a run of two defeats. Damian Lillar was again the top scorer for the Trail Blazers, scoring 31 points, that's the third game in a row he's been their top scorer. Away from home this season, the Trail Blazers have won five and lost nine. Only two of the last ten have been won though. This is their second game against Denver this season, the other was the season opener when they lost to at home to the Nuggets by eight points 

Denver are top of this division with a 14-8 season record and that places them fifth overall in the Western Conference. The Nuggets have lost their last three games but all have been away from home. Back on home territory, Denver are much more comfortable with seven wins from the last nine played. With Utah Jazz breathing down their neck with a 14-11 record, the Nuggets will see this game as one they can definitely win and that's the tip for this match.
