Denver Nuggets have a chance to go top of the Western Conference Northwest Division. They are second at present and host the Philadelphia 76ers who are third in the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. Denver are behind Utah in their division but like the leaders have a 9-5 record. Utah take on Toronto at the same time as this game, so if they slip up and Denver win, then they can go top. The Nuggets are sixth overall in the Western Conference, but can move up to third if going top of their division. Denver had won five games in a row before being beaten by Dallas in their most recent match. All five of their home games played this month have been won, making it 7-1 for the season. They'd be top of the division already but for three successive defeats on the road.

Philadelphia are third in their division but three wins behind leaders Brooklyn. Overall, the 76ers are eighth in the Eastern Conference but only a win behind automatically going into the play-offs. They did have an 8-2 record but their excellent start has been ruined by a run of five defeats in a row. Their most recent match saw them lose by 35 points at Utah, Unless they can suddenly rediscover their form, Denver can be backed to win this match.
