A Western Conference battle in the NBA sees the 12-6 Denver Nuggets playing host to the 8-6 Houston Rockets. The Nuggets are third in the standings and will be looking to close the gap on the first-place Timberwolves who they trail by only a single game. The Rockets have cooled off after a lengthy winning run to start the month and are down to eighth-place in the Western Conference. The Nuggets pulled off an unbelievable comeback against the Clippers on Monday, winning the fourth quarter by 20 points to grab a 113-104 victory. Denver was without Jokic, Murray and Aaron Gordon but the defending champions showed off their depth, an aspect of the team that was under the most scrutiny coming into the season. 33-year-old Reggie Jackson and Deandre Jordan showed out against their former employers, putting up a combined 56 points, 18 assists and 18 rebounds. It was their second win in a row and only their fourth road win in 10 away games this season.

Houston are still searching for their first away win of the season as they head to the Mile High City for the second of a road back-to-back. The Rockets fell to their Texas rivals the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 121-115 last night and will have to cope with the travel time and short rest. The visitors should take some confidence from the fact that they defeated this Nuggets team back in Houston just five days ago by a score of 105-86. That victory was in spite of Nikola Jokic dropping 38 points , 19 rebounds and eight assists as they were able to hold the Nuggets to just 34% shooting from the field. However, Denver is a different team at home and Houston is a different team when playing on the road. The signs aren’t looking good for the Rockets especially considering Jokic sat out last game and is expected to be good to go for this one.
