Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
A Western Conference showdown in the NBA is set to tip off on Sunday night as the Denver Nuggets host the Golden State Warriors at the Pepsi Center. Denver sits atop the West standings with a record of 51 wins and 26 losses. They currently hold a two game lead over the streaking Memphis Grizzlies as we enter into the final five games of the regular season. The Nuggets have been slightly inconsistent as of late, splitting their last 10 games with five wins and five losses. The most recent outing resulted in a 100-93 loss to the Phoenix Suns marking the second straight loss for the number one seed and the second consecutive game that the team failed to eclipse 100 points. Of course, missing the two-time MVP and offensive conduit Nikola Jokic will have that effect. Jokic sat out the last two games, both losses, with the Nuggets citing calf soreness. He’s expected to return here but still listed as questionable on the injury report. Jamal Murray also missed the last game against Phoenix but is listed as probable for this one.
The Warriors are in fine form with five wins from the last six games. Their most recent outing resulted in a 130-115 home win over the Spurs which made it back-to-back wins for the defending champions. It’s certainly been an off year for the Golden State dynasty but they are still in the hunt this season as they hold the fifth seed by way of a 41 win, 37 loss record. Only two games separate fifth-place from ninth-place so the Dubs must remain focused in the final few games of the regular season. Golden State finished up a four game home stand which saw them go 3-1. The encouraging news for the Warriors is that they were able to get some road wins on the board ahead of this meeting with powerhouse Nuggets. The Warriors have won their last two road games, marking only the second time all season that they’ve managed to accomplish that feat.

Our Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors Prediction
The bookmakers setting this line at just -2.5 implies that they are a bit unsure over the status of Jokic in this game. If the Serbian were guaranteed to play this line would likely be closer to the -5 or -5.5 mark. With that being the case, we think there is a good bit of value in backing the home team here. Worst case scenario Jokic doesn’t play but the Nuggets still have one of the deeper teams in the league and should have Jamal Murray back for this one. Denver is more than capable of covering this number without their MVP center and if Jokic does suit up, then we have a huge edge in our favor. Our Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors prediction: Denver Nuggets -2.5
