Denmark open their 2024 Men's European Handball Championship campaign with a match against the Czech Republic. This is a match in Group F with the other two sides to play being Portugal and Greece. Denmark are one of the few countries who can say they have been crowned European, World and Olympic Games Champions. They have been crowned European champions on two occasions and won the world title three times. The Danes are the current world champions and have won that title three times in a row, most recently in 2023. Their last European title was won in 2012 but two years ago they finished in third place. They come into this tournament having already won a Golden League tournament this month and are unbeaten in their last 21 matches last being beaten in 2022.

The Czech Republic have never finished higher than sixth place in the European Championships. That was achieved in both 1996 and 2018 but in the most recent tournament two years ago, they lost in the preliminary round and finished 13th. They haven't qualified for the World Championships since 2015. Recent form has seen the Czechs unbeaten in their last four games, most recently winning a friendly against Hungary, winning by just one goal. We tip Denmark to win this on a handicap of -8.5 goals.
