Denis Shapovalov vs Michael Mmoh Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Delray Beach Open

Third seed Denis Shapovalov and world number 87 Michael Mmoh will face off for the second time in their careers on Wednesday in the second round of the Delray Beach Open. Shapovalov received a bye to this round while Mmoh got the better of the wildcard Aleksandar Kovacevic in three sets in the first round. Mmoh won the first meeting back in 2016 in Tiburon by straight sets. Shapovalov serves off in Delray after his second-round exit at the Dallas Open, where he was also seeded third, to eventual champion Wu Yibing. The Canadian has played at four tournaments before Delray this season where a quarterfinal finish in Adelaide and a third-round exit at the Australian Open have him in 26th place in the live ranking. It is his debut tournament in Delray and he will be hoping to make it worthwhile as he attempts to get back into the world’s top 20.

Michael Mmoh also suffered an early exit in Dallas to Wu Yibing, losing in three sets in the first round. It was a disappointing exit for the American who had come to the tournament after reaching the third round of the Australian Open, which was the first time he had done so in a Grand Slam. Mmoh made the main draw in Melbourne as a lucky loser and was taken to five sets in his first match by the qualifier Laurent Lokoli. In the second round, Mmoh pulled up a surprise victory over 12th seed Alexander Zverev, coming back from losing the first set to win 3-1. He would lose to compatriot J.J Wolf in straight sets to exit the tournament. His success in Melbourne saw him rise to number 83, a new career high. He is currently in 82nd place in the live ranking and can move up to the top 80 with a win over Shapovalov. Just like Shapovalov, Mmoh is also making his debut in Delray.
