Denis Shapovalov vs Arthur Rinderknech Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Qatar Open

by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions

Denis Shapovaov is the top seed in Doha and takes on Arthur Rinderknech in the quarter final. Shapovalov has risen two places this year to 12th in the rankings and is in his second successive Doha quarter final. This year has gone well so far, beginning with winning the ATP Cup with Canada. He then made it to the last eight in the Australian Open, beating Alexander Zverev on the way to a five-set defeat by Rafa Nadal. Last week saw him in Rotterdam but lost to Jiri Lehecka, who reached the semi-finals. This week, he has had a comfortable straight sets win over Alex Molcan, only dropping four games and none in the second set. He's had one match in the past against Rinderknech, beating him in Stockholm last year but being taken to three sets.

Rinderknech is the world number 61 but up four places in the live rankings. The Frenchman also began his year playing in the ATP Cup. He didn't fare too well though, losing two of his three matches but did beat James Duckworth. He did better in Adelaide though, making it to the final with a win over Karen Khachanov on the way. However, he lost to Thanasi Kokkinakis (ranked 145th at the time) in the final. Rinderknech beat Alexei Popyrin in the first round of the Australian Open but withdrew from his scheduled second round match against Dan Evans through injury. This is his first tournament since then and he had to come from behind to knock out Jiri Vesely in the first round. He then knocked out recent tournament winner Alexander Bublik, again in three sets. Go for Shapovalov to beat his unseeded opponent.
