Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians Prediction & Betting Tips - Indian Premier League
by Devesh Jaganath | in Cricket Predictions
Two sides in desperate need of a win will face off in the Indian Premier League this week when the Delhi Capitals take on the Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. The Capitals have played three matches in this tournament so far but have been unable to win a single match yet, which has left them second-from-bottom in the standings. In their opening match, Delhi were dismantled by the in-form Super Giants, losing by a margin of 50 runs after failing to chase down the 193-run target posted, and then followed up with another weak display against the Gujarat Titans a few days later, losing by six wickets and 11 balls to spare after failing to defend the 162/8 they managed in their 20 overs. Last Saturday, Delhi took on the current IPL leaders, the Rajasthan Royals, who made light work of the Capitals, containing them to just 142/9 and handing them a 57-run defeat. The only positive for the Capitals so far in this tournament has been the performance of David Warner, who is the side's top-scorer by some margin. The Australian opener has notched up two half-centuries in the opening three matches, and the Capitals will be relying on the destructive left-hander to continue his great form as they try to register their first points of the tournament in this one.
The Mumbai Indians have also gotten their IPL campaign off to a very poor start, having failed to win either of their opening matches. Mumbai are also on zero points so far and are just one spot above their opponents, ahead only due to a better run rate of -1.394. In their tournament opener, Mumbai’s top order failed to deliver, with none of the first four batsmen managing to register more than 15 runs in their innings. However, thanks to an unbeaten 84 in 46 balls by Tilak Varma, Mumbai managed to set a target of 171/7, but it was nowhere near enough to defend against the powerful Royal Challengers batting lineup, with Virat Kohli scoring an unbeaten 82 and Faf du Plessis adding a further 73 runs in just 43 balls that saw them triumph by a massive eight wickets and 22 balls to spare. It was a similar situation in their second match against the Super Kings over the weekend, who contained Mumbai to 157/8 in their innings, and went on to achieve that target with 11 balls and seven wickets to spare. The five-time IPL champions are looking in shambles at the moment and will need a solid performance in this one to get some confidence back in the squad.

Our Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians Prediction
With both sides playing well below their ability, it’s difficult to make a confident decision over who will prevail in this crucial encounter. Despite the Capital's poor performances to date, David Warner has looked in excellent form and has dealt with pace and spin with relative ease so far. He currently sits 31 runs behind the early orange cap holder, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and we fancy the Australian to overtake the CSK man with another solid inning in this one. Our Delhi Capitals v Mumbai Indians prediction is for David Warner to score over 31.5 runs.
