Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from the tournament due to a wrist injury

Nick Kyrgios plays his second match of the year on Monday when he battles wildcard David Goffin at Wimbledon. The winner of this first-round tie will play either unseeded Sebastian Baez or the qualifier Tomas Barrios next. David Goffin arrives for his 10th appearance at the All England Club ranked 127th in the ATP. The former world number seven has twice made it to the quarterfinals here. In his bid to surpass this feat, he arrives having compiled an 18-14 win-loss record. In his last match, the Belgian was eliminated in the second round at the Ilkley Challenger. Three of his wins this year have come in the five matches he has played on grass. Goffin is a decent performer on grass and has won 35 matches on the surface in his career. He will hope this allows him to win his second match against Kyrgios in what is their fifth encounter.

Nick Kyrgios has won three times in four encounters with Goffin. He will hope this dominance continues on Monday as he continues his journey back to full fitness. Kyrgios has played only one match since last December as he has been sidelined by injuries. First, it was his knee that needed surgery then he suffered another setback during a home invasion. The Australian made his season debut in Stuttgart where he was defeated 2-0 by Wu Yibing. He is a stronger performer on grass and last season made it all the way to the final here. Kyrgios starts the week ranked 33rd in the ATP.
