Two seeds face each other in the last 32 at Indian Wells. 12th seed Daria Kasatkina takes on Liudmila Samsonova who is seeded 24th. Time to read our match prediction.

For the winner of this outdoor hard court match, their fourth round opponent will be either sixth seed Jasmine Paolini or unseeded Jaqueline Cristian.

Kasatkina is the world number 12 and 24th in the Live Race. The Russian reached the final of this WTA 1000 tournament seven years ago. So far this year, her record is 9-6. Her one match so far in this tournament saw her come from a set down to beat Sofia Kenin.

Beating Samsonova will take Kasatkina into her second fourth round of 2025, the other being in the Australian Open.

Liudmila Samsonova was ranked 25th in the last list but is up two places in the live rankings. Seven of her 13 matches have been won this year. Three came in early January when making it to the last four in Adelaide.

This is the first time since then that the 26-year-old has gone past round two of a tournament. So far at Indian Wells, the Russian has beaten Caty McNally in straight sets, needing a tie-break in the first. We tip Kasatkina to win this match.
