Ninth seed Daria Kasatkina will seek her first win against 34th seed Amanda Anisimova when they battle at the China Open. Read on for our preview, stats and prediction of the Monday match.

This will be a third rounder, the winner progressing to face Nadia Podoroska or Qinwen Zheng next. Kasatkina has had a difficult time when facing Anisimova previously. She lost in all their four earlier matchups, all on hard courts.

Their most recent encounter was back in August and she will be eager to halt this unwanted run. Kasatkina had a strong start to her Beijing return, defeating lucky loser Jana Fett by the loss of just three games.

Kasatkina has compiled a 34-19 record and has won one title while finishing as runner-up four times. She is currently placed just outside the WTA top 10 in 11th place.

Amanda Anisimova has the advantage over Kasatkina and will be confident of moving past this round. The American has not only won all her matches against the Russian, but did so without dropping a set.

One of her wins came on her way to the Melbourne Summer Set title in 2022. The more recent victory came on her way to the Canadian Open final. She will hope another victory sets off a similar effect in her quest for a first title this year.

Anisimova, who has registered 15 of her 19 wins on hard courts, had a tough opening fixture against Camila Osorio.

The one-time French Open semi-finalist clawed her way from a set down to claim the second-round victory. Thanks to the win, she has now moved up to 40th in the live ranking.
