Third seeded Danill Medvedev takes on the fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Rome Masters semi-final. The winner of this match will face either Casper Ruud or Holger Rune in the final. Tsitsipas is two places below Medvedev in the seedings but is out tip to win this match. The Greek player is far better than his opponent on this clay court surface. He's playing in his fourth tournament of the year on this surface and has been incredibly consistent. He's reached two quarter-finals and is bidding to get to his second final. The other came in Barcelona where he was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz. His good form has continued in Rome and he'll hope it'll be the same at Roland Garros. This tournament has seen him win four games and he's yet to drop a set. Tsitsipas has beaten the 15th seeded Borna Coric and the 18th seed Lorenzo Musetti. A win over Medvedev will see him go up a place to fourth in the live rankings. Tsitsipas is already fourth in the Live ATP Race but winning this match wlll take him to third above Novak Djokovic.

Daniil Medvedev sits at the top of the ATP Race but that's due to his stunning form on hard courts, not clay. Four hard court titles have been won by Medvedev this year but he's yet to win one on clay. He reached the last eight in Monte Carlo and the last 16 in Madrid. Now he's finally made a semi-final on this surface which is more than he's ever achieved in the French Open. His best at Roland Garros is only a last eight appearance in 2021. This is the first time he's got past the second round in Rome. A win here will take him into only his second ATP Tour clay court final. The only one so far was in Barcleona four years ago, losing to Dominic Thiem. He'll also go second in the overall rankings if winning this title. This tournament has seen him beat two seeds and lose one set. It's not been the hardest draw and he beat a qualifier in the last eight. He leads Tsitsipas 7-4 in previous meetings but it's 1-1 on clay. Tsitsipas has won three of the last four meetings and he can get another win here.
