Daniil Medvedev vs Oscar Otte Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Halle Open

World number one Daniil Medvedev takes on unseeded Oscar Otte in the Halle Open semi-final. Medvedev hasn't won a title all year (but is still top of the rankings) but has lost in two finals. The first was to Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open and then last week to a rather less well-known player. Medvedev was beaten in the Netherlands by Tim van Rijthoven (yes him) who was ranked 205th at the time. Medvedev is still world number one though and likely to stay there for a while due to all the ranking points Novak Djokovic will lose due to there being none available at Wimbledon. Medvedev of course won't be playing in that Grand Slam. This week has seen him David Goffin, Ilya Ivashka and seventh seeded Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets.

Oscar Otte began this week ranked a career high 51st in the world. His run to this Halle Open semi-final has him up to 36th in the live rankings. That should be enough to earn him a seeding at Wimbledon for the first time in his career. Beating Medvedev would take him up to 31st. Otte has beaten Miomir Kecmanovic, Nikoloz Basilashvili (after losing the first set) and eighth seeded Karen Khachanov, again needing to come from a set down.  This is his second successive grass court semi-final. Last week he got to the last four in Stuttgart, losing to Matteo Berrettini. It's his third semi-final of the year, the other being in a clay court tournament in Munich. Perhaps he should just play in Germany every week. Either that or Italy where his last two Challenger Tour titles were won last year. Medvedev won't have this all his own way but he can get a win in straight sets, after all he is world number one.
