Daniil Medvedev vs Frances Tiafoe Prediction & Betting Tips - Laver Cup - Singles

Day two of the 2024 Laver Cup begins with Europe's Daniil Medvedev playing his first match of this international challenge. His Team World opponent is the American Frances Tiafoe. Here's our match prediction.

It's 2-2 after the first set of matches in this three-day competition between Team Europe and Team World. There are three singles and one doubles match being played on Saturday with the winner of each match earning his side two points.

Europe have already won two matches so far and that's one more than they achieved in last year's 13-2 loss to Team World. Berlin is the host for this year's hard court competition and Daniil Medvedev is the favorite to put Europe 4-2 up in the tie.

The world number five is yet to win a singles tournament this year but only three players have earned more ranking points than him in 2024. His last tournament was the US Open where he lost in the last eight to eventual champion Jannik Sinner.

The Russian has reached two ATP Tour finals this year doing so at Indian Wells and the Australian Open. This is his second Laver Cup match and he has a 1-0 record. He's won five of his six previous matches against Tiafoe.

Frances Tiafoe is the world number 16 and went a round further than Medvedev in the US Open, losing in the last four to Taylor Fritz. The American has reached at least the last eight in three of his last four hard court tournaments.

This is his fifth Laver Cup and he has a 2-3 singles record. He lost his first three Laver Cup singles but in the last two stagings of this competition he's beaten Stefanos Tsitsipas and Hubert Hurkacz. We tip Medvedev to win in straight sets.
