Daniil Medvedev vs Dominic Thiem Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Finals

A first-time champion will be crowned when Dominic Thiem takes on Daniil Medvedev in the final of the ATP Tour Finals. Those hoping for a Djokovic v Nadal final were disappointed when both lost in the semi-finals. You have to go back to 2015 now since Djokovic won this title, Nadal has never won it. So, instead we get Thiem v Medvedev, a match-up between the two group winners and guaranteeing we get a final between the two players in the best form.

Dominic Thiem is in his second final in a row in this tournament. Last year saw him beaten by Stefanos Tsitsipas, so he'll be hoping to go one step further this time around. His group saw victories over Tsitsipas and Nadal before beating Novak Djokovic before losing a rather meaningless match against the already eliminated Andrey Rublev. Saturday saw Thiem up against world number one Novak Djokovic and he won a three-set match to get to this final. He has had a successful year with one Grand Slam title in New York and reaching the final of the Australian Open. 

Daniil Medvedev is in his first final in thls tournament. He won all three of his group matches, defeating Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic and Diego Schwartzman. That took him through to a semi-final on Saturday against Rafael Nadal and he came out on top in three sets. He's looking to add this title to the one he won at the recent Paris Masters. Medvedev has to improve on his record against Thiem. He's lost three of their four meetings, his only victory coming in Canada last year. Their most recent match was at this year's US Open where they met in the semi-final. Thiem won that in straight sets but two went to tie-breaks. This could be a close final but Thiem looks to be in the better form and can win this title to end a successful 2020 on a high.
