Third seed Daniil Medvedev and fifth seed Andrey Rublev will meet yet again at the Turin ATP Finals. The two compatriots, who will compete in the Red Group, will square off on Monday. Daniil Medvedev will be seeking to win his second year-end finals tournament. He triumphed in the last tournament to be held in London back in 2020. The current world number three has had a terrific year and will look to crown it off with victory here. He has won the most matches this season in the ATP with 64 victories in 80 fixtures. Nine of those wins have come in his 11 outings on indoor hard courts. Medvedev has twice defeated Rublev this year to take his record against his compatriot to 7-2. The Russian has lost his last two matches and was defeated in the second round in Paris in his last match.

Andrey Rublev lost to Medvedev in the semifinals of last year’s tournament. It was his best-ever finish in what was his third appearance in the ATP Finals. Having defeated Medvedev once before on an indoor hard court, Rublev will feel confident that he can rise to the occasion here. Ranked fifth in the ATP, Rublev has recorded 56 wins thus far in 2023. This is the most he has ever managed in his career. It has allowed him to move into fifth place in the ATP which is his career-high world ranking. Rublev’s success this year has brought with it two titles and four more tour final appearances. He is coming off a semifinal finish in Paris.
