Daniil Medvedev vs Andrey Rublev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

Third seeded Daniil Medvedev takes on eighth seed Andrey Rublev in the last eight of the US Open. The winner of this all-Russian match will face either defending champion Carlos Alcaraz or 12th seeded Alexander Zverev. Medvedev has an impressive US Open record and was the champion at Flushing Meadows in 2021. Before that he was the losing finalist in 2019 and a semi-finalist the following year. The world number three has won five tournaments this year with four of them on hard courts. His last title was in May when surprising even himself by winning on clay in Rome. This tournament has seen him drop a set in round two to Christopher O'Connell. In the last round he had to come from behind after losing the first set to Alex de Minaur. He recovered well though and only lost seven games in the following three sets. Medvedev has had seven ATP Tour matches against Rublev and leads 5-2, all on this surface. Rublev has won two of the last three but this's most recent saw Medvedev beat him in the final of the Dubai tournament this year for the loss of four games.

It's not known if Andrey Rublev is a fan of the musical 'Cabaret.' If he is, then perhaps his favorite song has to be 'Maybe this time.' That must be how he feels when playing a Grand Slam quarter final. He's played eight in the past and lost all of them. This is his third of the year and his fourth at the US Open. Will this be the tournament in which he finally makes the last four of a Grand Slam? The odds are against him but he has played well in New York.
