Alexander Zverev won this title in 2018 and comes into this final group match having won one and lost one of his matches. He takes on Daniil Medvedev who has lost both of his matches so far this week. Zverev caused plenty of shocks last year when winning the title and started where he left off when beating Rafael Nadal in straight sets. He only lost six games in that match but couldn't reproduce that form in his next match. He lost in straight sets to Stefanos Tsitsipas only winning five games. He has a good record in matches against Medvedev having won four of their five previous meetings. There most recent meeting was the only one that Medvedev won as he beat him in the final of the Shanghai Masters.

Daniil Medvedev has had a bad week with two losses. He began with a 7-6 4-6 defeat by Stefanos Tsitsipas but then got off to a good start in his match against Rafael Nadal. He won the first set on a tie-break but then lost the next two including another tie-break loss in the final set. He has been in great form in the second half of the year but has been struggling for results in the past two tournaments, losing in his first match at the Paris Masters.
