Daniil Medvedev vs Alexander Bublik Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Dubai Open

Third seed Daniil Medvedev and world number 46 Alexander Bublik will on Wednesday face off in the second round of the Dubai Open on an outdoor hard court. Medvedev has won all previous five meetings between the two players. The winner here will advance to the quarter finals to face off with either eighth seed Borna Coric or the wildcard  Thanasi Kokkinakis. After a not-so-impressive start to the season, Daniil Medvedev has hit top gear in recent weeks and is cruising at the moment. The world number seven has come to Dubai having won his last two tournaments (Rotterdam and Doha) and is currently on a 10-game winning streak. He beat lucky loser Matteo Arnaldi in straight sets to book this round. After his disappointing third-round exit in Melbourne, Medvedev was inactive for almost a month which precipitated his falling out of the world’s top 10 for the first time in five years. The Russian has advanced to at least the semifinals in three of his last four tournaments this season and is expected to do the same again here even though he has never progressed past the second round in his previous two appearances.

Alexander Bublik seems to be heading in the right direction after a woeful start to the season which saw him lose his opening seven matches of the year. He has now won four of his last five matches and made it to the semi finals in Marseille where he lost by straight sets to eventual champion Hubert Hurkacz. The Kazakh number one progressed to this round after the qualifier Alexandar Lazarov, his first-round opponent, retired in the second set. Bublik had won the first set 6-1. Just like Medvedev, Bublik has also not been past the second round in Dubai. A win here will send him up to 41st in the live ranking.
