Danielle Collins is back on the court after withdrawing from Toronto and Cincinnati, and a second-round exit in Monterrey. Her first 2024 US Open match will be against unseeded Caroline Dolehide. With 40+ wins this year, predictions have her as favorite in this first round encounter.

Collins won her first-round match at the US Open in the last three seasons. She has also defeated Dolehide five times previously, with her most recent win being in May at the French Open.

The world number 11 has compiled a 42-14 record, won two titles and finished once as runner-up. In the last nine months she got into seven quarter-finals. With her strong form this season and dominant run against Dolehide, she will be confident of maintaining this streak.

Of the six meetings between these two players, Caroline Dolehide managed just a win, and odds here are stacked against her. She has struggled in her most recent outings which is a reflection of the season she is having.

The American has lost six times in the last nine matches and is currently on a three-match skid. Dolehide has been unable to replicate her semi-final run in Washington and lost her last three matches all on hard courts.
