Danielle Collins vs Marta Kostyuk Prediction & Betting Tips - ATX Open

The only two remaining seeds in the first ever ATX Open face each other in the last four. Fourth seeded Danielle Collins takes on eighth seed Marta Kostyuk. The winner will face either Varvara Gracheva or Katie Volynets in the final. Collins began this week ranked 38th but was 11th at the start of the year. Not being able to match last year's run to the final of the Australian Open saw her ranking plummet. Collins is up to 31st in the live rankings and can climb to 28th if winning this semi-final, The American had only reached one quarter final this year before arriving in Austin. That was in Adelaide in January and since then Collins has struggled for consistency. This week didn't start too well as she dropped the first set of her first round clash with Magda Frech. That was followed by a win over unseeded Caty McNally with only two games dropped. It was tougher in the quarter final as Collins had to come from behind to knock out Anna Kalinskaya. it was a good recovery though with only three games lost in the final two sets.

Marta Kostyuk started this tournament ranked 52nd but has climbed to 46th in the live rankings and that's a new career high. This is her first semi--final of the year after last eight losses in Adelaide and Thailand. At least there's no Belinda Bencic playing in Austin this week. The Swiss player knocked Kostyuk out of her two most recent tournaments. This week has seen Kostyuk only lose one set on her way to this semi-final. That came in the second round against Madison Brengle but after losing the middle set, she won the decider 6-0. It was easier in the last eight as Kostyuk beat Anna-Lena Friedsam in straight sets. Collins is our tip to reach the final.
