Daniel Evans vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Monte Carlo Masters

It's been a momentous week for Daniel Evans but all good things have to come to an end. He takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-final of the Monte Carlo Masters. Evans hadn't been known as a clay court player before this week. The world number 33 has been earning his ranking points on hard and grass courts not clay. He'd never made it past the first round of the French Open or the Madrid and Rome tournaments. Even last week he lost in the first round of the clay court tournament held in Cagliari. Yet in the past two days he's beaten Novak Djokovic and David Goffin. Now he takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas who has beaten him in their only two previous meetings. Both were won in straight sets and the most recent was last year, when Tsitsipas beat him in Hamburg on clay.

Tsitsipas is the fourth seed for this tournament and the world number five. He has had a difficult draw in Monte Carlo, where the Greek player now resides. His first two opponents were in-form Aslan Karatsev and clay court specialist Cristian Garin. Both were won in straight sets giving us a good indication of what good form he is in. The last eight saw him beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. He won the first set and then his opponent took the decision to retire, something that's happening a lot in tennis these days. Tsitsipas has been in good form all year and this is his fourth semi-final of 2021. His only appearance in a final saw him beaten by Alexander Zverev in Mexico. His clay record is much better than his opponents, with a quarter final at last year's French Open. Two years ago he made it all the way to the final of the Madrid Open. He can do that in Monte Carlo too and win this match in straight sets.
