Daniel Evans vs Roberto Bautista-Agut Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Monte Carlo Masters
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
14th seeded Roberto Bautista Agut takes on Daniel Evans in the Monte Carlo Masters first round. Agut is ranked 19th in the world but has been as high as 15th this year. He's never made it past the third round of this clay court event but has had tough draws in his last two visits with losses to Andrey Rublev (in three sets) and Rafa Nadal. He's reached one final this year, losing to Nikoloz Basilashvili in Doha. The first Grand Slam of the year saw him lose in the last 32 to Taylor Fritz after leading two sets to one.
Daniel Evans reached the semi-finals of this event last year. That included beating Novak Djokovic and Hubert Hurkacz, before losing to eventual winner Stefanos Tsitsipas. The run to the last four wasn't really followed up on during the rest of the European clay court season. He still hasn't won a match at Roland Garros with four first round losses. Evans is the world number 29 but is struggling for form. The British player has only won one of his last five matches and lost to Yoshihito Nishioka in the last 64 of the Miami Masters. That's disappointing after he began the year with five wins in a row in Australia but since then has a 2-5 record. Go for Agut to get the win here.
