Daniel Evans vs Mikael Ymer Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

It was fifth time lucky for Dan Evans when he finally won a main draw match at Roland Garros. The world number 32 is seeded 29th in the French Open and takes on unseeded Mikael Ymer in round two. The winner of this match is likely to face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the next round. Evans has been playing Grand Slam events for 13 years now but only twice has he ever got as far as the fourth round in one. He hasn't had the best of clay court seasons with a best performance of a last 16 in Madrid where he beat Roberto Bautista Agut. Last year did see him get to the semi-finals in Monte Carlo though where he beat Novak Djokovic. The first round at Roland Garros saw him finally get a main draw win with victory over Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets. 

Now he takes on the world number 95 Mikael Ymer from Sweden. His opponent reached the third round in both Australia and at Roland Garros last year but that's the furthest he's ever got in a Grand Slam. He's been as high as 75th in the rankings this year but also as low as 100th. His year got off to a good start with a run to the last eight in Adelaide but lost in the first round of the Australian Open to Stefanos Tsitsipas. Ymer reached the last four in Montpellier but it's been a bit of a nightmare since with six successive losses before arriving in Paris. Of those defeats, three have been inflicted by players outside the top 100, two of them not even in the top 200. Ymer finally got a win when beating James Duckworth (0-5 now on the ATP Tour this year) in straight sets. Back Evans to get through to the third round.
