Top seed Daniel Evans will play lucky loser James McCabe will on Tuesday in the first round of the Surbiton Trophy. The winner of this match will play either unseeded Liam Broady or alternate Gabriel Diallo in the second round. Evans is a former champion here and will target winning again to spark a season turnaround. The Briton has struggled with his form and arrives for his switch to grass with a losing record. He has lost 14 of his 22 matches, with the latest coming in the first round at Roland Garros. This form has seen him drop down two places to 27th in the live ranking. He has played majorly in the Challenger circuit and could find it tough against a seasoned player like Evans. So far McCabe has managed two semifinal appearances in Bengaluru and Puerto Vallarta.
