Daniel Evans vs Borna Ćorić Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Dubai Open

Daniel Evans takes on the eighth seeded Borna Coric in the Dubai Tennis Championships first round. The Englishman is currently 29th in the live rankings after beginning the year two places higher. Evans is having an inconsistent year and is yet to make it past the last 32 of a singles tournament. If he can beat Coric, then the next round will see him up against either wild card Thanasi Kokkinakis or lucky loser Quentin Halys. Last week saw Evans in Doha where he was seeeded sixth. It was another bad week though, losing in round one to Emil Russuvouri in straight sets. That was his third straight defeat, including losing to Nicolas Mejia in the Davis Cup tie with Colombia. He was ranked 253rd that week, though the match was played on clay. His only previous match against Corcic was in Melbourne two years ago with Evans winning in straight sets. He was in much better form that week though and went on to win the title.

Borna Coric is 20th in the live rankings and has made a steady start to the new year. He won two of his three matches in the United Cup, both against top 50 players. He had a tough draw in the Australian Open though, losing in straight sets in round one to rising star Jiri Lehecka. Both of his matches for Croatia in the Davis Cup tie against Austraia were won in straight sets. His most recent tournament was in Montpellier where he reached the quarter finals. He can get into the second round in Dubai with a win over Dan Evans.
