Daniel Elahi Galan vs Maxime Cressy Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Eastbourne International

World number 84 Daniel Elahi Galan will take on 55th-ranked Maxime Cressy in the first round of the ATP Eastbourne Open on Tuesday. The winner of this match will face either Zhizhen Zhang or Lorenzo Sonego in the next round. Galan comes into this tournament following a quarter-final appearance at the Heilbronn Challenger event last week and will be looking forward to the grass swing after managing a solid record of 11-4 on the surface last year. The Colombian has done most of his best work on the Challenger circuit this year, including a final appearance at the Sarasota event; however, he’s struggled when making the step up to the ATP circuit. Galan has failed to get past the first round in any of his last three ATP events and has not gone past round two in 11 tournaments this year. He has made a positive start here in Eastbourne, beating Maxime Janview and Jan Choinski in straight sets in the qualifiers, though he was forced into a tiebreak in each of those matches. Galan is now 16-17 for the year but will fancy his chances here against an opponent that has also been far from impressive this season.

Maxime Cressy’s grass swing hasn’t gone according to plan yet as the American comes into this one following back-to-back first-round exits in the Netherlands and London. At the Rosmalen tournament, he suffered a surprise defeat to 82nd-ranked Marc Andrea Huesler, while at the Queen’s Championship, it was Holger Rune that sent him packing in straight sets. Since reaching the final in Montpellier back in February, Cressy has participated in 12 tournaments but has only made it to the second round twice and has not gone past that stage. His record has taken a notable dip to 7-15 for the year and 0-2 on the grass. He is evidently struggling for form, and unless he can find some rhythm soon, he will likely be making another first-round exit in this one.
