The Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves will meet on Tuesday night at the American Airlines Center for what could be a decisive Game 4 showdown in the Western Conference Finals. The Mavericks currently lead the series 3-0. 

The Timberwolves have found themselves overwhelmed by a combination of the Mavericks' brilliance and their own lack of experience at this stage of the playoffs. Their struggles have been compounded by the unstoppable performances of Dallas stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who collectively scored an impressive 66 points in Game 4. The dominant duo propelled the Mavericks to a 116-107 victory, putting them in a commanding 3-0 lead in the NBA Western Conference final. It's worth pointing out that no team has ever overcome a 3-0 deficit in 154 playoff scenarios. Throughout this series, the Mavericks have demonstrated their ability to remain composed and deliver under pressure, while the Wolves have been erratic, as seen by Karl-Anthony Towns' modest 14-point performance and his failure to convert any of his eight three-point attempts in Game 4. However, the Mavericks face concerns heading into the next game, particularly regarding Dereck Lively, who sustained a neck sprain in Game 3 and was unable to return after being substituted out in the second quarter. His availability for the upcoming match remains a doubt.

Despite being in positions to secure victories in each of the first three games of the Western Conference finals, the Timberwolves have consistently stumbled in the closing minutes. This trend continued in Game 3, as they were outscored 14-3 in the final three-and-a-bit minutes. Anthony Edwards shot 11 of 24 from the field and amassed 26 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. He focused on driving to the rim, which proved effective. However, despite his efforts, the rest of the team struggled to find their offensive rhythm. Despite the challenges, the Timberwolves still have reasons for optimism. They led for 77% of the total minutes in the first two games, and their strong road record of 5-1 in the postseason will give them some much-needed confidence. Still, though, unless they can contain the offensive prowess of Doncic and Irving, the Timberwolves may find themselves bidding farewell to the playoffs sooner than anticipated.
