It's the play-off weekend and NFC East winners Dallas Cowboys host NFC West runners-up Seattle Seahawks with the winners facing the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional play-offs. Dallas won their division ending with a 10-6 record ranking them fourth in the list of NFC divisional winners hence their place in this wildcard match. The Cowboys did well to win their division having made a start that saw them at 3-5 for the season. They recovered well with a five-match winning streak before losing to the Indianapolis Colts without getting on the scoresheet. Wins over the Tampa Bay Bucaneers and the New York Giants ensured they won the division. Winning the division was important to them as it guaranteed them a home tie in the wildcard play-offs. Of their six defeats, only one came at home. On their travels they lost five, including a 24-13 loss at Seattle Seahawks. 

Seattle Seahawks also ended the regular season with a 10-6 record, the sixth time in seven years their number of wins has reached double figures. That record only took them to second in the NFC West as they had the 13-3 LA Rams to contend with. They finished fifth in the NFC rankings earning a wildcard play-off position. The Seahawks also found consistency hard to find in the early part of the season losing both their opening games and their first win of the season was that home victory over the Cowboys. After nine games they were struggling at 4-5 for the season but then embarked on a four match winning run, though the first two wins were both by just three points. They lost in overtime to San Francisco 49ers but won their last two to clinch a wildcard. Their away record for the season is 4-4. QB Russell Wilson has been a key player for Seattle as they turned their season around, go for Seahawks to get the win.
