Week 16 in the NFL sees a massive NFC clash when the Dallas Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles at the AT&T Stadium. With only three games left in the regular season, teams will be fighting tooth-and-nail to position themselves for the NFL Playoffs. The Eagles carry the honor of holding the league’s best record currently with an intimidating 13 wins from their 14 games. Their almost-perfect record gives them a comfortable lead over the Dallas Cowboys who sit second in the NFC East with 10 wins and four losses. Philadelphia is coming off a 25-20 away win over the Chicago Bears and this will be the final of their current four game road trip before heading home to take on the Saints. For the Cowboys, they will be looking to bounce back after suffering a 40-34 defeat at the hands of the Jaguars last weekend. The loss snapped a four game winning streak. 

The big story ahead of this game is the status of Eagles’ star quarterback and MVP candidate Jalen Hurts. The third-year pro suffered a right shoulder strain in the team’s win over the Bears last weekend and has been officially ruled out of action for this one. Backup Gardner Minshew will line up under center for this encounter and he is a capable enough QB to give Philly a fighting chance. Losing the star quarterback is of course a massive blow, but the Eagles will be depending on the overall strength of their squad to carry them through. Dallas, meanwhile, were likely anticipating this matchup against the Eagles ahead of their week 15 against Jacksonville, which resulted in the defense giving up a massive 40 points. They are now at risk of losing two straight headed into the Christmas period, which would be sure to create a crisis with affable owner Jerry Jones.
