The Czech Republic begin their penultimate Pool C match in the final qualifying position. They are fourth but on the same number of points as their fifth placed opponents Montenegro. The Czech team is ranked 21st in the world volleyball rankings and that's 21 ahead of Montenegro. They had a tough start to this pool as they faced tournament favorites and world number one team, Poland. As expected they lost that match in straight sets but it was a good fixture to get out of the way early on. Their hopes of a top-four finish and qualification for the final round were boosted with a win over Denmark. Another tough match followed as they took on the Netherlands (world ranked 11th) and failed to win a set. Now they have two games left and they really need to win this one before a final fixture against third placed North Macedonia.

Montenegro also have three points in this pool but after this match, they take on Poland and aren't likely to take anything from that match. A win over the Czechs is their target therefore if they want to go into the final round. They began this pool with a 3-0 loss to the Netherlands and won nine points less than the Czechs did against those opponents. Another 3-0 loss followed against North Macedonia but they finally got off the mark against Denmark with a 3-1 win, despite losing the first set and only winning the second 31-29. This is a vital match and we believe it'll be won by the Czech Republic in straight sets.
