The Czech Republic will play China in the Mixed Doubles Tennis gold medal match at the 2024 Olympics. Katerina Siniakova and Tomas Machac represent the Czech Republic while China is represented by Wang Xinyu and Zang Zhizhen. Follow on for our prediction for this match.
The Czech Republic have a chance to win their first gold at the Mixed Doubles event. This comes after winning bronze in Rio 2016, their very first medal. To reach this year’s final, Siniakova and Machac defeated Gabriela Dabrowski and Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada in straight sets at the semis.
The Czech have won all their three matches in Paris without losing a set. This season, Siniakova and Machac have both claimed nine wins on clay surfaces in Singles events. One of those wins for Machac was in the first round of the men’s Singles tournament in Paris.
China haven’t had a smooth run like their Czech counterparts in getting to the final. They have required a third deciding set in each of their three fixtures here. They had to come from behind each time.
In the semi-finals, they mounted a spirited comeback against the Dutch, represented by Demi Schuurs and Wesley Koolhof. China have never won a medal in Mixed Doubles at the Olympics. Zhang and Xinyu, who are strong players on clay, have made sure to write history with these Games.
They are already assured of at least Silver. Just like their Czech counterparts, both Zhang and Xinyu have each won nine matches on clay in Singles this year.

China required a third deciding set to win all three Mixed Doubles matches in Paris. Zhizhen Zhang and Wang Xinyu are both comfortable on clay, especially Zhang who has won over 120 clay matches in his Singles career.
This is the same for the Czech with Katerina Siniakova claiming 127 wins on clay in her career. Being a gold medal match, we expect a tough battle that might require a decider. Our prediction for the Czech Republic v China is for all three sets to be played.
