World number 79 Cristina Bucsa will play fellow unseeded player Karolina Muchova in the fourth round in Beijing. Below is our prediction for this match scheduled for Wednesday.

Cristina Bucsa has fought against the odds to reach this round. She defeated two seeded players in the last two rounds and is now on a three-match winning run. This is the first time this season she has won as many consecutive matches at an event. 

The Spaniard beat 11th seed Liudmila Samsonova and 23rd seed Elise Mertens via a decider. Against Mertens, in the third round, she overcame a first-set loss to claim victory in two hours and 22 minutes.

Bucsa, who has moved up to 69th in the live ranking, improved her record to 21-25. 

Karolina Muchova has been in terrific form in Beijing and has won all three of her matches in straight sets. She has also not relinquished more than four games in a contest. 

The Czech player defeated Jaqueline Cristian to progress to this round. The win was her 15th of the season in 20 outings. Muchova had a belated start to the year due to fitness concerns. 

She has however not looked rusty at all and has played in one final while finishing in the semi-finals at the US Open. The former world number eight has moved up five places in the live ranking and is now 44th. 

The winner of this first career meeting pitting the two players will play Aryna Sabalenka or Madison Keys in the quarter-finals.
