Coco Gauff vs Qiang Wang Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Miami

Corrie Gauff is the 14th seed for the Miami Masters. The 17-year-old takes on qualifier Qiang Wang in the second round with the winner up against either 24th seeded Sorana Cirstea or Zhang Shuai. Gauff is the world number 17 and that's just one place below her career high 16th achieved in January of this year. The American reached the semi-finals of the second tournament held in Adelaide, losing to Madison Keys after winning the first set. However, the Australian Open was disappointing for her as she lost in the first round to her opponent in this match, so time for revenge. A return to form came in Doha as Gauff beat Paula Badosa on her way to the last eight. Indian Wells saw her lose in the last 32 to Simona Halep.

Qiang Wang began the week ranked 101st in the world but three years ago was the world number 12. The Chinese player has been as low as 144th this year. After the win over Gauff in the Australian Open, she went on to reach the third round but lost to in-form Madison Keys after winning the first set. February saw her get to the semi-final of a WTA 250 event in Guadalajara but no players ranked in the top 80 were beaten. That was followed up by a quarter final in Monterrey. Wang qualified for the Indian Wells main draw but was beaten in straight sets by Maria Bouzkova in straight sets. She qualified for this event with two wins and then beat wild card Ashlyn Kreuger (ranked 208th) in the first round but had to come from a set down to do so. The win over Gauff in Australia was her first over the American. Gauff had won the previous two in straight sets but both were on clay. Gauff looks in the better form though and can get the victory here.
