Cori Gauff looks for some revenge when taking on Jessica Pegula in the hard court WTA Finals. Pegula beat her in the semi-finals of this tournament last year. Can Gauff win this time? Here's our match prediction.

This is their first match in this round-robin group with matches against Iga Swiatek and Barbora Krejcikova to follow. Gauff is the third seed, three places above her fellow American. Two titles have been won by her this year, both on hard courts.

The most recent of those was the China Open last month. Since then, the 20-year-old made it to the last four in Wuhan. Only one of her five previous matches against Pegula has been won and all three hard court matches have been lost.

Jessica Pegula lost in the final of this tournament last year but is not in the best of form at present. The 30-year-old has lost in the last 16 in her previous two tournaments. The task this week is to rediscover the form that took her to the final of this year's US Open. That was the only Grand Slam this year in which she made it past the second round. Pegula has won two titles this year, one on hard courts.
