Eighth seed Marton Fucsovics takes on qualifier Corentin Moutet in the second round of the Adelaide 2 tournament. Fucsovics is world ranked 38th and didn't get off to the best of starts this year. He lost to Egor Gerasimov in the first of the Adelaide warm-up events. He has shown better form this week though with a straight sets win over Botic van de Zandschlup in the first round of this tournament. Fucsovics reached the Wimbledon quarter finals last year but he'll be hoping for a more consistent 2022. The winner of this match takes on either number one seed Gael Monfils or lucky loser Thiago Monteiro.

Corentin Moutet would love to win this match if it meant a quarter final with compatriot Gaels Monfils. Moutet is the world number 115 and had to beat Holger Rune and Roberto Caballes Baena to reach the main draw. That was a good result for the Frenchman as Baena was the number one seed in the qualifiers. He was only seventh but beat Baena in three sets (middle set lost) to get to the first round. That saw Moutet get a straight sets win over Jan-Lennard Struff to set up this match against the eighth seed. Fucsovics is a lot higher in the rankings than his opponent and can get the win here.
