Connacht and Lyon will put their perfect EPCR Challenge Cup records on the line when they face off in week three on Saturday evening. The Westerners lead Pool 1 while Le Lou are right behind them in second. Let’s get into the match prediction! 

Connacht have been the best team in the Challenge Cup over the first two rounds, as they are the only side to have taken the maximum 10 points during that time. 

The Westerners smashed Zebre 43-12 in their opening match of the competition before delivering a very impressive 31-18 road win against Perpignan in week two, notching up bonus points in both games. 

However, the hosts did suffer back-to-back defeats in the United Rugby Championship last month, which sees them enter this match with a record of two wins and three defeats in their last five. 

Meanwhile, after a very poor start to the Top 14 season, Lyon are showing signs of life again, currently unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions (W3 D2 L0). 

Le Lou secured a 37-26 bonus-point victory over Cardiff Rugby in their first match of this competition and held on to a slender advantage to beat Zebre 21-19 a week later. 

However, that victory over Zebre is the only one the side have managed on the road since mid-September (W1 D1 L5), while they have only won two of their last 20 away games across all competitions.
