Columbus Blue Jackets vs Buffalo Sabres Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

Early on Saturday morning, the 18-27-10 Columbus Blue Jackets will host the 25-27-4 Buffalo Sabres. Nine of the last 10 games that the Blue Jackets have played were on the road and although their record away from home is better than at Nationwide Arena, they will be happy to be home for a couple of days. They picked up nine points from those nine games, including a 7-4 win in Anaheim against the Ducks in the final game of the trip. That was a fair return for a team who have struggled defensively this season and they did again in Anaheim, blowing a 4-0 lead before kicking on again. Johnny Gaudreau leads the team with 40 points but that is a long way short of the level he was capable of with better support in Calgary.
We mentioned the recent road record of the Sabres ahead of their win over the Montreal Canadiens. They have six wins from their last seven on their travels and an overall record of 13-11-3 now on the road. The Sabres have enjoyed far more success away from home and they will be looking for another two points as they take on the team at the bottom of the East. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was the star for the Sabres between the pipes against the Habs, making 29 saves on 31 shots to continue an excellent run. Five of his last seven starts on the road, he has given up two or fewer goals to give the team a solid foundation to build on.
